Abstract

The ethanolic leaf extract of Carica papaya was screened for antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. The satisfactory MIC of the plant extract against E. coli is 500 µg/ml while that of S. aureus is 800µg/ml. This sty also revealed that the combination of the crude plant extract and the protein synthesis inhibitors had the highest inhibitor activity.
